Bürkle 'LAM V series' multilayer vacuum presses
Stevenage Circuits recognises Bürkle GmbH as the world leader in vacuum lamination technology, and has proved as much by installing 3 of their 'LAM V' series multilayer presses since 1995. Currently, the combined total capacity made available by the 3 pieces of equipment is in excess of 1200 standard panel size laminations per day!
The original LAM V 100 was installed as a large automatic transfer press and has been effectively running round the clock for the past decade, bonding panel sizes of 12" x 18" up to the maximum panel size of 21" x 26". The fact that the press automatically loads and unloads means that the capacity of this single press is potentially over 600 panels per day, however this is soon to increase further still as this hard-working machine is due for a full upgrade and refurbishment which should be completed by Spring 2006.
The second LAM V 100 (1998) and the more recent LAM V 125 (2003) have been installed as manual presses, solely used for the more complex product in the dedicated HDI facility at Stevenage.

The LAM V 125 is a high temperature lamination system which specialises in the bonding of materials such as PTFE, however both newer presses consistently provide superb quality pressings of Polyimide and Rogers high frequency laminates plus Flexible and Flexi-Rigid technologies.
